Painswick Beacon Conservation Group
The Conservation Group exists to promote the interests of precious plants and wildlife on the Beacon. This includes birds, butterflies, orchids and grasses, and unexpected plants like junipers.
As well as supporting projects for the long-term maintenance and protection, we are respected for our hands-on clearance work. On many Saturday mornings in the Autumn-Winter-Spring you will find our working parties controlling excessive growth of grass, brambles, etc and removing the many invading seedling trees that threaten to swamp and darken the open spaces.
Interested? Do come and Join us. Tools provided, guidance given and good company.
See work parties post for latest dates, we normally meet at 9am working till about 12 noon. Look for the smoke signals.
